Building the platform for results
In business we tend to equate performance with results. That’s a view that fundamentally flawed and can actually undermine performance.
Performance versus results
In the world of elite sport and performance psychology we tend to make the distinction between outcome, performance and process.
Outcome is the business result, e.g. revenue, profit or market share. In sport this is winning the match, the race or tournament. It’s what we’re competing for, but it’s not under our control
You’ll hear Olympic athletes saying that they were focused on the process; on giving themselves the best possible platform to get the best result. Rarely does focusing on winning result in winning.
Building the platform for performance
We can help you to translate your Olympic gold – your vision and mission – into manageable ‘process’ goals, and to understand the mindset and environment – the platform – that will help you do deliver.

What is a high performance environment?
Performance is the net result of many factors, but ultimately it’s about creating the environment that encourages and enables the skills and mindsets that align to your strategic objectives.
There’s no silver bullet. It’s about the whole system: the climate that leaders create influencing mindset; how those mindsets are enabled or frustrated; and how the resulting emotional responses influences behaviour.
We can help you develop effective strategies and initiatives, so that all of these forces are working in your favour.
