Culture & ClimateCreating the conditions for performance
Culture eats strategy for breakfast, apparently.
We’re not so sure it has to be that way.
Culture change starts with climate
We start by understanding the performance that you’re looking for, which is defined by your vision and mission.
We then look at the mindset and behaviours that will deliver that performance, and whether you have the climate – or psychological conditions – to support them.
In most cases, adjustments are needed rather than wholesale change – changing the mix rather than the music – making cultural change feel less daunting.
Climate starts with leadership
The evidence shows that leadership – particularly line managers – have the biggest impact on climate. That doesn’t mean that things like the physical environment, processes and policies don’t matter. They will reinforce or undermine what you’re trying to create. But leadership will drive it.
change the MIX
NOT THE MUSIC

Perspective: Align to the performance you want
If you want someone to change, you focus on their behaviour, not their personality. Not only might that feel pretty threatening, they wouldn’t know where to start.
To start changing culture, start with the performance that you want, then identify the environment (climate) that will support the mindsets that will support it.
If you take that view, culture doesn’t eat strategy, but strategy feeds culture change.

There will be winners and losers from Brexit, and the winners will be those organisations that can adapt quickly and efficiently. I propose the following no-regrets steps that, even in the unlikely event that Brexit doesn’t happen, will leave your business better equipped to deal with change.
The 8Connect Blog
I’m a big believer in the idea of providing a great employee experience, but am concerned that it’s becoming another Employee Engagement. An industry, a tick box exercise. An opportunity to sell software.
